Standing watch over the southern Cornish coast since the nineteenth century, this wonderful family home is ideally situated to explore the best that this corner of the county has to offer. Wander outside, and you'll discover a patio area, which makes for a superb spot to enjoy alfresco meals with a side of those fabulous river views towards Fowey. And when you'd like a secluded shady spot to call your own, head into the long walled garden, where you can lay out on the lawn and perch beneath a palm tree. There's also a large sheltered deck perfect for a morning coffee or evening G&T. On the ground floor, an open-plan kitchen and dining room is set up for sociable get-togethers around the eight-person table, with French doors that can be flung open for seamless indoor-outdoor living. Elsewhere, the cosy lounge is located up on the first floor and comes equipped with comfy leather seats and breathtaking views of the river. Bedrooms are split between the ground and first floor, with a king-size and a twin on each. Explore the village, and you'll find plenty to enjoy in its quayside and beach, shop and pubs – Polruan makes for a perfect place to... visit and watch the world race by. A regular passenger ferry runs throughout the day to Fowey, where you can browse independent shops, peruse the art galleries and dine in fantastic restaurants. The National Trust's Lanhydrock is half an hour away, with its imposing country house, woodland and riverside paths to explore. Alternatively, a little further lie the wilds of Bodmin Moor, where you can spend a day sailing, windsurfing and canoeing your way around Siblyback Lake Country Park.
