In the English countryside, this former 16th-century barn has been renovated to create a charming countryside retreat amidst the stunning natural beauty and rolling hills of Suffolk. While much of the barn's original charm has been retained, such as the beautiful old beam structure and brick walls – contemporary furnishings and home luxuries including Suffolk-made toiletries complete the home beautifully. At the centre of the home, you'll find a magnificent double-height living room with open spaces yet a surprisingly cosy atmosphere. Considering the vast volume of the living room, it presents an intimate space filled with warmth and homeliness, arguably due to the careful placement of the sofas around the fireplace. Spend warm summer evenings with the bi-fold doors opened out onto the terrace and garden. The outdoor dining area provides an idyllic spot to enjoy barbecues and home-cooked meals in the sunshine. With a games room, library and a separate seating area for cosy Netflix nights at home, it's easy to make yourself feel at home here. You're also in for a treat when it comes to exploring the local area, with lake access for wild swimming a short walk from the home. And with the nearest pub just 500 metres away, you'll have the local amenities at your convenience. First, discover the market square of Eye Town, positioned just 2 miles away and in a prime location for a spot of blackberry picking along the way. You'll find the local butchers, bakers, local supermarkets, deli, chocolate shop, antiques, cafes, and a historic Castle to admire in the village centre. Not to mention, there are a wealth of walks, footpaths and cycling routes starting in and around the farm for you to make the most of, and your host is more than happy to organise bike rentals.
