Back in 1932, this property was an upscale fashion boutique catering to excited brides-to-be. After fifty years of dealing in lace and tulle, it became a lively Irish pub. Maybe the good vibes of this home are in part due to the history of happiness that the building holds… Or maybe it’s just that finding such a light and pretty home ten minutes from the French Quarter made us slightly giddy. Who knows? What we do know is that this home is something special. Wood floors and a soft colour palette combine with the natural light that pours in, resulting in a cheerful and relaxing space. After a day in the heat of New Orleans, it’s an utter delight to return to the cool ambience of this apartment. We liked to enjoy a cocktail on the shared balcony before heading out to dinner – there’s so much choice of great food and drink around here that you’d need to stay for months to try it all. During the day, drive thirteen minutes to City Park – one of the largest urban parks in the States. Pack up a picnic to enjoy after you’ve seen the botanical garden and the New Orleans Museum of Art. Coliseum Square Park is only seven minutes on foot from the apartment, so you really are spoiled for choice.
