Built back at the start of the 20th century, this home on Wilsford Manor Estate was inspired by the Arts and Crafts design movement and was subsequently visited by many of the literary figures grouped together as the Bright Young Things, including Rex Whistler and Nancy Mitford. While some more modern additions have been made in the years since, the address retains an air of refinement. The interior design is traditional throughout, with a preference for antique furnishings, portraiture artwork and soft pastel colours. When it comes to mealtimes, there's the option of the grand dining room or the table in the conservatory. In the latter of these, you'll be able to peek out through the windows into the impressive grounds, in which you'll find everything from a terrace with a barbecue and an all-weather tennis court to an eighteen-metre-long heated swimming pool complete with a pool house. The estate has been reinvented as a spot for rural sports in the past few decades and it's possible to request for the host to organise an afternoon of fishing or shooting for your party. Alternatively, there's plenty to see in the local area, including the world-famous Stonehenge less than ten minutes' drive away.
