This rustic Greek villa in the tranquil countryside of Crete is surrounded by gardens of flowers and trees with stunning views of the mountains from your bedroom windows. Start your days with an alfresco breakfast, and then lounge in the heat of the sunshine before cooling off in the waters of your private pool. Or, read a good book, curled up on the sofa in the air-conditioned coolness of the villa. Kontis village – where this home is located – has a farm that is home to many animals including deer, sheep, dogs, cats, and two horses. Guests can spend the day getting to know the animals, and even enjoy a unique, free horse-riding experience to explore the beautiful surroundings. Kontis Village also offers a courtyard that houses vineyards and vegetable gardens, and guests can experience wine and raki tastings, or pick fresh vegetables for dinner, free of charge. Beach days aren’t far away from this home either and can be reached within ten minutes by car, or venture further from home and visit Chania – a thirty-nine-minute drive away. Here, you can wander along the Old Venetian Harbour, see the lighthouse, visit the museums, and much more. In the evening,... you can choose to dine in one of the local tavernas in Maza village – a short seven-minute walk away, or return home to barbecue some of those freshly picked vegetables and enjoy your meal alfresco beside the pool.
