Quirky and cool, this loft apartment may be small, but it's packed with personality. Let's start with the design – there's a cow-print sofa that puts the 'moo' in smooth and funky cow-themed artwork adorning the walls. It's not something you see every day – especially not in a seaside village in East Sussex – but that's precisely why we love it. But the fun doesn't end there – a huge collection of DVDs, books and CDs will keep the boredom at bay, there’s a desk for remote working and the compact yet well-equipped kitchen is ideal for rustling up tasty breakfasts to start the day off right. Our favourite spot is the chaise lounge in the bedroom – sprawl out with a glass of wine, a good book and admire the views over St Leonards. Nestled in a Victorian conversion in the creative quarter, you'll be well-placed for exploring the village on foot. Everything is within walking distance – from the lively cafes and shops on Kings Road (just around the corner) to the sprawling beach (a mere five-minute stroll) and train station (walkable in two minutes). Catch a flick at the independent cinema, grab a bite to eat at the numerous restaurants on the waterfront or wander along the seaside promenade and visit Hastings, a fifteen-minute walk away.

About Hastings

Best known for a battle which actually took place some miles north, Hastings is an ancient south coast fishing town with so much going on it’s hard to know where to start. If it’s the sea that’s called you here, the beach is long and popular. You can walk from the historic black fishing huts at one end to Hastings Pier and way beyond. Along the way you might hitch...
