Close to the Vatican City and Castel Sant'Angelo – both of which are a fifteen-minute walk away – this spacious five-bedroom apartment can comfortably accommodate your entire family, with enough bed space to bring some friends or relatives along for the ride. With wooden shuttered windows and an earthy terracotta glow, the exterior screams Rome. However, inside the apartment, generously proportioned communal spaces offer a contemporary vibe, with gleaming marble floors, a cool mint and light blue colour scheme, and modern furnishings throughout. Five uniquely decorated bedrooms combine exceptionally comfortable mattresses, bespoke beds and chintzy period details such as gleaming chandeliers, gilded picture frames and patterned wallpaper to create a totally unique style that we absolutely love. It's situated in the upmarket district of Prati, which serves as something of a corporate hub during the week. Its grand sweeping boulevards and beautiful art nouveau buildings mean that it shouldn't be ignored. However, it seems to fly under the radar of most visitors, so you can browse the exclusive boutiques that line Cola di Rienzo (300m away) unbothered by gaggles of tourists. Step off the main thoroughfare and you'll discover low-key neighbourhood haunts and cool kerbside cafes where you can while away an afternoon over a long lunch.
