The epitome of the word retreat, this impressive home on the western coast is wonderfully remote, with staggering views directly over the sea to the isles of Raasay and Skye. A peninsula referred to by its ancient occupants as 'the sanctuary', it's truly a place to escape it all and just take some time to yourselves. With the ever-changing weather and the wild landscape visible from every room, it's an adventure just being here. Whether it's hiking, biking, kayaking or dolphin watching, it's all here on your doorstep. The home itself is modern, luxurious and built with great eco-credentials. Open-plan living space and vast windows make the most of the panoramic views, with outdoor terraces facing the sea. There's a fabulous kitchen with all the mod-cons you could need, a snug media room and library to keep you entertained on rainy days and numerous bedrooms – each with its own character. A separate studio has its own facilities and can sleep four – perfect if some of your group would prefer a little independence. And while it's about as rural as it gets, with the nearest major town being Inverness (around two hours by car), it's not exactly isolated. You can walk...
