On the hilly and beautiful island of Funen, this charcoal coloured cabin stands out against the vibrant greenery. The home's traditional wood panelled walls continue inside, neutral-toned and bright. Huge windows draw the sunlight in, and we love the contrast of the super bright natural wood against the chic accents of black and grey. It's Scandi cool at its finest, complete with mid-century furnishings. Despite its trademark Scandinavian cool interior, it's still inviting and comforting. Prepare fruit salads in the open kitchen to be enjoyed in the lush garden. The island of Funen is known for its fresh fruit gardens, so you know it'll be good. Spend hazy days relaxing on the outdoor loungers as the kids are kept occupied on the swingset, enjoying the beautiful green surroundings. Stretch your legs and walk the short two minutes to one of the island's many rugged beaches, Hasmark beach. Despite the island's wildness, full of coves and natural beauty, its home to Denmark's third largest city, Odense. It's a half an hour drive away and looks straight out of a storybook. The historic city is the birthplace of beloved Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen and with so much to do there, it's a wonderful day out. When you get home after a day of exploring, you'll love spending balmy evenings out in the garden. Play games and sip on wine around the table, or take the fun inside for a cosy evening around the wood burning fire.
