With the Kattegat Sea to the east, and the striking terrain of Jutland stretching all the way west, this home in Fjellerup allows you to explore Denmark’s lands and waters. While you might spend an afternoon fishing or wild swimming, you could just as easily drive an hour to the bustling city of Aarhus. But either way, coming back to this gorgeous wooden lodge will be a treat for the senses. Built in 2003, and renovated in 2021, its traditional appearance offers 21st-century luxury. Let’s start inside, where the rich wooden exterior continues throughout the entire home, creating a rustic atmosphere and a hygge experience. We love the mid-century furniture, faux fur dining chair throws, huge windows, and sets of binoculars for spotting local wildlife. You can get cosy by the modern wood-burning stove, or snuggle up in bed on the mezzanine floor. Or to warm up in luxury, head into your Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. On sunny afternoons, alfresco dining is a must. Prepare a plate of smørrebrød to take out to the patio with fresh coffee, then get the grill heated up for fresh fish at lunch. This lush garden is a real treat for picnicking, dining, sipping local beers, and of course popping champagne in the hot tub under the stars.
