Do you have a question about this home or the local area?

The mountainous landscape, sparkling lakes and quaint towns of the Salzkammergut region are some of the most beautiful in all of Europe — so much so that UNESCO named it one of its World Heritage Sites in 1997. This charming chalet close to the banks of Lake Hallstatt is a superb base from which to see the best of the area. The home itself is both generously sized and contemporarily decorated, with wooden flooring, stark white walls and chic furnishings. There are beautiful views to be admired from the living room windows, as well as from the first-floor balcony and the outdoor terrace complete with an alfresco table. What really distinguishes this home is the amount of amenities guests can access. In the address itself, there's a private sauna in which you can work up a sweat, but there are plenty more shared facilities in the resort village. These range from a restaurant with a sun terrace and an indoor swimming pool to a fitness centre and children's entertainment. You may also be happy to learn that ski buses to take you up to Krippenstein's slopes stop right outside of the house and it's possible to rent equipment in the resort village. If you're visiting in the summer months instead, you're spoilt for choice when it comes to hilly walking routes to embark upon, as well as natural attractions, such as Waldbachstrub waterfall only eighteen minutes' drive away.

Home truths

    There's free parking available

The home is spread over two floors and while there's a bedroom on the ground floor, all three of the bathrooms are on the first floor, so it might not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility

The host looks after several properties within the resort so the chalet might look slightly different from what's photographed, although the style and standard will be similar
