This pretty apartment makes for a wonderful base for city breaks in Florence. It’s bright and welcoming, with huge windows that flood the space with light and lead into the sheltered courtyard outside. After a long day exploring the city, it’s lovely to be able to open the doors and bring the outside in. Upstairs, the bedroom is cosy and comfortable. The original ceiling beams have been retained through renovations, which adds warmth and a touch of history – fitting for Florence, a city with such a rich past. This home can be found in a residential spot away from the crowds of tourists, making it even more tranquil. All of the city’s major sights are within easy reach on foot – a nineteen–minute stroll with a gelato in-hand will take you to the Duomo and the incredible views from the Campanile. If the heat of the city gets too much, wander across the iconic Ponte Vecchio and up to the Boboli Gardens. It takes forty minutes on foot – longer if you call into a cosy trattoria for lunch. Stroll through the gardens and take in the view on your way back.
