Just off one of the most historic streets in Whitby, with its own little outdoor space, this home is for those who like to be right in the heart of things. Surrounded by coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and boutiques, it's in a tucked-away spot, in a period building. But that's not to say there's anything old-fashioned about this place – freshly renovated with wood floors, all-white walls and contemporary furnishings. The open-layout living space has a sleek, modern kitchen area for cooking at home and there's a comfy sofa for evenings in. Start your day with coffee on your little deck – a rarity in this part of town – before heading out to explore. The beach is just a few minutes' walk and you can reach the bottom of the 199 steps up to the abbey ruins in around twelve – how long it takes you to reach the top is another matter. While you're here, don't miss the famous fish and chips, the Captain Cook Museum and the Dracula Experience – they're all just steps away from your door.

When the sun sets, ghost tours amble through the cobbled streets, revealing the town’s dramatic history. By day it’s all idyllic fishing village vibes, with a hint of Victorian holidays.
