This building was designed as a lavish example of Madrilenian Modernism in 1915 and this apartment pays homage to the original design in its vibrant, vintage decor. French-style windows flood the living room with natural light and can be opened up to create Juliet balconies with wrought-iron railings, overlooking the buzzing street below. Vintage prints on crisp white walls and leafy pot plants add splashes of colour, alongside the canary-yellow recliner chair. In the bedroom, we love the big bay window, art deco style, which makes for the perfect reading nook in the sun. In terms of location, you’re just a two-minute stroll from the beating heart of Madrid at Plaza Mayor. The leafy street this apartment sits on is brimming with pavement cafés and shops to peruse. If you want to get out and explore the rest of Madrid (the Prado and Retiro Park perhaps), the Opera metro station is just a five-minute walk away.
