This delightful wooden home sits a short walk from the shores of Lake Como, in the pretty town of Colico. It’s a fifteen minute walk to the Colico ferry pier where you can hop on a water taxi to beautiful lakeside town like Varenna and Bellagio. Or, head away from the lakeside to discover the area’s hiking trails into the mountains, past castle ruins and old mills. The home has an eco-friendly vibe with solar panels on the roof and the facade of a clapboard cabin. Set in a wooden deck, even the swimming pool feels natural. Admire the mountains rising around you from the comfort of a sun lounger, or set up for long lazy lunches at the poolside table, shaded by a parasol. Inside, the lounge is flooded with sunlight from two walls of glass, and the reclaimed wood walls and floors continue the eco theme. There’s a mid-century feel to the dine-in kitchen and a second seating area is designed for teenagers and kids to hang out upstairs. Our favourite touch is the den, where a wooden bar and foosball table provide the fun and gym equipment the workout.
