Stylish and vibrant, this quirky home in the Hancock Park neighbourhood of LA is only a short drive away from the Walk of Fame, but you’ll be the one to feel like celebrity royalty from the moment you set foot inside. Everything from the choice of wallpaper to the statement light shades and stylish terrace furniture adds to the grandeur of this home, but it’s the little breakfast nook that we’re especially fond of. Spend lazy mornings eating pancakes you perfected in the generous kitchen, a pot of freshly-brewed coffee on the table to share. Another highlight here is the little summer house that doubles as a detached office, allowing you space away to deal with any work emergencies, should they arise. If you’re a writer that has finally hit inspiration gold, you might be pleased to know this space has a small kitchenette too, so you can really get lost in coffee and contemplation as you hammer away at your new work in progress. Of course, outdoors is probably where you’ll end up spending most of your time, and who can blame you when the pool is crystal clear and blue, the sunloungers are out for sunbathing, and the fire pit is calling for you to bring a bag of marshmallows for roasting. If you can manage to tear yourself away from this slice of paradise, head to Koreatown – a short drive away – for Korean barbecue and an afternoon of karaoke or go hike the Bronson Caves. Visit the famous Griffiths Observatory, just under a twenty-minute drive away, and catch a game at Dodger Stadium.

About Larchmont

Larchmont is a delightful neighbourhood in the central part of the city, that's notable for its well-maintained historic homes and quaint old-town shopping streets. The tree-lined sidewalks feature independent stores and boutiques that help evoke its small town feel. Shop like a local at the Sunday Farmers Market, or nosh on vegan cuisine at Cafe Gratitude. It's marginally less fancy - still pretty fancy though - than its neighbour Hancock Park, but it's got plenty of charm. Bookworms will want to check out Chevalier's Books, the oldest independent bookstore in Los Angeles, which resides on its main boulevard.
