Nestled in a small village, and just a short drive from the jewel of Costa Verse, Viana do Castelo, this stunning villa sits in the verdant hills above the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a short distance to the powdery sands of Praia de Afife, the border between Spain’s Galicia, the adventure-packed rivers of the Rio Lima estuary and the countryside hiking trails in the Lima valley. Inside, the space is dominated by an expansive, wooden-beamed living area where you’ll find an elegant dining table for sharing bacalhau fish stew dinners and a contemporary lounge boasting ambient lighting for cosy nights in sharing aperitifs. The sleek kitchen has plenty of prep space, courtesy of a glossy island, which keeps the space social. A second dining room leads off the kitchen and out onto the patio – we’ll be honest, this one’s our favourite – perfect for alfresco dinners together under pink-hued sunsets. Staying outside, there are plenty of spaces for every member to unwind. The patio is decked out with lounge chairs, perfect for soaking up the sun before plunging into the pristine pool for a cooling dip. We have to say we think the garden is the ideal spot to begin mornings over fresh coffee and locally bought pastéis de nata and to end evenings with caipirinha cocktails under the starlit sky.
