Dating all the way back to 1879, this grade II listed, brick and flint property was built as an addition to Cromer Hall, which you’re still able to view if you walk ten minutes in the direction of the zoo. Although it has been updated since, a lot of the original character still remains, resulting in a carefully balanced mix of rustic and modern touches. Utterly inviting, the home’s rough stonework can be admired from the backyard where the garden allows you to sit down for a peaceful afternoon tea – or G&T, if that’s more your speed – to simply soak up some vitamin D in the sun. It is still a seaside home, though, and what would a seaside home be without an actual trip to the sea? Walk eight minutes to Cromer Beach and spend a day frolicking in the saltwater surf, sunbathing, and eating as much ice cream as is humanly possible. On your way back, stop off at Hatters Tea Shop or The Rocket Café – both very popular – or head to the pub for a pint and traditional pie and chips. There are many eateries around – remember to get a takeaway from... the local fish and chips shop to take back home in front of the fireplace – and a couple of bars if you want to go for an evening drink.
