Context can go a long way when we're picking homes for our collection. Take this apartment in the middle of Ostuni. Although the design is fresh and contemporary, there's no living room to speak of and the kitchen is as basic as they get. Normally, this would have our finger hovering above the 'reject' button, but there are some pretty big saving graces. The first has to be the stunning terrace. Head up the stone staircase and you're greeted by a large space with incredible views over the city's famous whitewashed architecture and the Apulian countryside. You can enjoy this view while lounging on the day bed, cooling off in the pool or listening to soothing music on the sound system. In addition, the apartment's location in Ostuni's historic centre is another huge strength. Many of the city's most famous sights lie a short distance away, including the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Museum of Preclassic Civilizations of the Southern Murgia, both three minutes' walk away. The seaside is pretty close, too — Baia di Camerini is eleven minutes away by car.
