Overlooking the charming, tree-lined Viale Montedoro from its compact Juliet balcony, this two-bedroom apartment offers a convenient location for a family or a small group of friends to experience the best the historic city of Syracuse has to offer. While the exterior of the building might pack in plenty of period charm, the inside is all clean lines and contemporary design. A restrained grey colour palette is lifted by colourful dining chairs and a lime-green mid-century-inspired sofa. It's an aesthetic that's carried through to the bedrooms to great effect, though the bursts of colour are more subdued. The apartment is located in the city centre, with plenty of bars, restaurants, ice cream parlours, and supermarkets on your doorstep. From the balcony, you can enjoy views of the leafy Foro Siracusano, located right next door. Just over five minutes in the opposite direction will see you land on the island of Ortigia, connected to the mainland via the Ponte Umbertino. The best way to explore this compact island is simply to wander. At 1km long and 500m wide, it's almost impossible to get lost. We recommend people-watching in the Piazza del Duomo, marvelling at the beautiful baroque architecture and enjoying some quiet... reflection at Fontana Aretusa – a source of inspiration for many great poets over the centuries.
