The owner–architect and his partner wanted to offer an exciting alternative to ordinary holiday accommodation, and what they’ve achieved is exactly that. With the couple’s love of art and design at its core, you can tell that everything – right down to those tiny, finer details – has been carefully cherry–picked. From the corrugated, art–deco kettle to the stylish floating desk space, no effort has been spared here – and the Mediterannean and Nordic influences are clear to see. The neutral colour scheme keeps things light and bright, meanwhile the medley of natural oak features warm everything up. We love the fusion of classic and contemporary. Chris and his wife, Hanna, hand–selected a bunch of designer, bespoke and vintage pieces to create a modern setup galvanised by retro accents peppered from here to there. The end result? A practical yet elegant studio that’s sure to make your experience of Malta magical. If you don’t feel like leaving your private haven, we don’t blame you, but as everything is all within easy reach, an amble around the enchanting alleys is a must.
