Everything about Paris’ Le Marais neighbourhood is artsy and eclectic, including this apartment. High ceilings, gilded mirrors and a striking marble fireplace in the living room create that 19th-century Paris feel, in keeping with the Haussmann buildings of your atmospheric street. Each piece of furniture and watercolour on the wall feels as though it has been hand-picked from a local antiques market. There’s cosy bistro seating for two in the window, which open up to a Juliet balcony overlooking the street below. Come bedtime, the bedroom is a soothing mix of fawn, velvet and crisp white. Your neighbourhood is packed with typically Parisian bistros where couples dine by candlelight and chairs and tables spill out onto the pavement. Wandering the streets here feels like you’re starring in your own rom-com and there’s a chi-chi little gallery at every turn.
