Welcome to a historical piece of medieval Italy. Formed in the 10th Century, this former castle dates back over a thousand years – it's bringing ancient architecture to the modern day. Perched at the top of a stunning hilltop, it gives you the chance to feel like Italian royalty. You'll be unsurprised to hear the castle has been renovated with modern day comforts, yet still maintains that authentic feel. The distinctive dining room, decorated with a throne, gives a nod to its predecessors with a voguish decor. All the bedrooms rest on the top floor, which means the fun lays downstairs and in the huge garden and courtyard. In the quaint, cosy basement, you'll find a jacuzzi and a wine cellar filled with vintage wines – you can buy a bottle and sip a glass in the jacuzzi for true indulgence. If you prefer to indulge outdoors, especially when the sun's shining, the terrace is an idyllic setting. Various sun beds line the courtyard area, whilst there are cushioned seats on the terrace looking out across one of the best views in Italy.

About Lucca

Lucca is one of Italy’s best-kept secrets. Surrounded by fortified walls, its core is a warren of pretty piazzas, traditional Tuscan trattorias, and beautifully preserved churches. Most of the action happens in Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, a vast central square lined with alfresco restaurants and Renaissance-era architecture. There’s a buzzy nightlife scene centred around cool enotecas and craft beer bars. On Via Fillungo, you’ll find some of Lucca’s finest boutiques, with high-end...
