A mesmerising location, impeccable interior design and plenty of exciting things going on in the locale – this strikingly modern lodge perched on the banks of Bowmoor Lake, in the edge of the Cotswolds, seems to have all the luck. The views of the water from the deck, from the private beach with fire pit or even just out through the floor-to-ceiling windows are soothing, but you can easily liven things up with some water sports or outdoor activities arranged by the surrounding resort, or a visit to its world-class spa for a pampering session. There's more than enough to do at home if the weather's not on your side as well – we're looking at the pool table, in particular.
