Housed in a historic building dating back to 1921, this beautifully curated apartment next to Passeig de Sant Joan offers a scenic, comfortable base from which to explore Barcelona’s most famous sights. Decked out in beautiful vintage pieces the host has collected on her world travels and throughout Barcelona, this bright apartment blends Old-World charm with striking modern features to create an instantly stylish impression. We love the living area’s tiled floors and the French doors here that lead out onto a petite balcony – the ideal spot to enjoy a glass of Spanish wine at sunset. Alternatively, make your way out onto the inner courtyard patio where a plethora of plants creates the perfect canvas for morning coffees ahead of a day of sightseeing. The kitchen, meanwhile, beckons intimate homemade tapas dinners when you’re not out sampling the local restaurants, and the main bedroom – a vision of relaxation with its clawfoot tub – is where you’ll relish retreating at the end of the night with the promise of sweet dreams. Wanting to ensure you have the best time in the city possible, your host offers a whole list of recommendations on places to visit, including her favourite restaurants and bars. You’re also a five-minute walk from the iconic Sagrada Família, a ten-minute stroll to Passeo de Gràcia, while Hospital de Sant Pau – now a museum – is fifteen minutes away on foot.

Home truths

While there's a lift in the building, you'll still need to climb some stairs in order to reach the apartment

There's a sofa bed in the living room for more flexible sleeping arrangements – your host will consider accommodating more than four guests if the group is part of a family

A cot and a high chair are available on request

The main bedroom's en-suite bathtub is open to the sleeping area

The second bedroom doesn't have a door, so lacks privacy

Out of respect for the neighbours, please keep noise to a minimum between 10pm and 10am

As you're in a central location, you may hear some street noise

We recommend skipping the car here and using Barcelona's public transport instead – Monumental station is a six-minute walk away

About Sagrada Família

La Sagrada Família is the neighbourhood immediately surrounding Barcelona’s greatest and largest attraction - the Sagrada Família. As Gaudí’s opus magnum, the architectural behemoth has been in construction for over a century, and some say asking when will it be finished is the easiest way to anger a local. The immediate vicinity of the cathedral is always busy, but the rest of the area is upscale and residential, making it quieter than one would expect. The vast avenues are home to a variety of cafes, shops, and beautifully designed parks.
