Visit the sandy beaches, but make sure to also wander around the city to photograph the striking architecture – especially the Lonja de la Seda, or Silk Exchange, that has been listed as a Unesco Heritage Site. Wake up early morning as the light streams in and make your way downstairs to get started on breakfast. Enjoy coffee on the velvet sofa and wait for the caffeine to chase the last dregs of sleep away. If you're not in the habit of cooking when on holiday – we couldn’t agree more – then head out to one of the surrounding restaurants or cafes. When you're not out exploring, dig into coca de llanda on the living room floor as you play cards, or sit out on the small balcony with a glass of wine as you soak up the sun.
