Sitting close to the coastline on one of the approximately 24,000 islands in the Stockholm Archipelago, this address benefits from not only a private dock, but also a motor boat you can borrow to explore your surroundings a little further. Alternatively, if you're more than content to sit and admire it from afar, there are alfresco tables in the pretty garden from which to dine and gaze out at peaceful waters. This being Scandinavia, there are certain points in the year in which you'll simply want to coop up inside and it's more than possible to get toasty and warm here. Not only are there wood-burning fireplaces dotted about the communal spaces, but there's also one in the spa-style bathroom, complete with a tub and relaxation area. We're also particularly fond of the homely design throughout, from the rustic kitchens and bright living spaces to the soft rugs underfoot. Part of the beauty of this address is its sense of isolation and privacy, although this does mean you'll have to hop in the car and potentially on a ferry for restaurants and attractions. That being said, the host can arrange for a private chef to visit the home, which makes life easier somewhat.
