Sometimes you just need to escape from the hustle and bustle. This charming 16th-century farmhouse in Wales is the perfect place to relax and unwind, and to embrace a slower pace of life. The farmhouse is a peaceful retreat, tucked away in the countryside between Corwen and Ruthin. It’s surrounded by wildlife and nature, and feels a million miles from the stresses of daily life. This is a traditional home for sure – check out the original built-in bread oven – but it’s been brought up to date with touches of luxury. You’ll spend rainy afternoons curled up in front of a roaring log burner, beneath wooden beams, but can warm up in the hot tub later on. You really get the best of both worlds here. Kids will love the games room and garden, and grown-ups are sure to enjoy sipping Champagne in the hot tub while admiring the countryside views. The barbecue and outside seating means that when the weather is fine you can dine outside. The kitchen is lovely too, with a classic farmhouse table at its centre – each morning you can sit down to a hearty Welsh breakfast to set you up for the day. Snowdonia National Park is a twenty-seven-minute drive away. Head out early for a peaceful hike, and revel in the natural beauty of the setting. The farmhouse is also within easy reach of Clwydian Range, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is a magical part of the UK, and a gorgeous home to experience it from.
