Once the servant's quarters to the main house next door, this cottage is now a cosy hideaway in the heart of the Lledr Valley. Every inch here is packed with charm – we love how the owners have preserved all the characterful features, including the traditional slate floor, wooden beams, exposed stone and the servant's bell system still on display in the entranceway. This is a home where you can kick off your shoes and truly relax. On chilly evenings, nothing is lovelier than snuggling up in front of the wood burner with a glass of wine and a good book. Later on, dig into a delicious dinner prepared using locally-sourced ingredients – lamb is a favourite in this neck-of-the-woods – before climbing into the original cast iron four-poster bed for a good night's sleep. Summertime is the perfect excuse to explore the shared Victorian gardens. Admire the stunning valley views with an alfresco cocktail or fire up the barbecue and dine in the late-evening sun as the river meanders by.     Although the village is within walking distance, we highly suggest having a car here – there are two parking spaces in the courtyard in front of the main house
