This cosy cottage, perfect for a romantic getaway, is a true gem hidden happily in the harbour town of Porthleven. You can tell its history from the gorgeous exposed stone surrounding the fireplace, the only real nod to its past. Once a Victorian fisherman’s cottage, it’s now a chic, modern home, inviting you in and wrapping you up in its charm. This home has a neutral, contemporary palette, but with pops of sunshine peppered throughout with yellow scatter cushions, wall art and decor. The quiet patio is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee and plan for the day ahead as the sun warms your skin. When it’s time to explore Porthleven, you have an array of shops, restaurants and cafes to enjoy, and a wander along the harbour with the sea breeze drifting over you is sure to leave you feeling refreshed. If you long to feel the sand between your toes, hop in your car – a short ten-minute drive will find you at the sandy beaches of Praa Sands and Perranuthnoe. Whatever the season, you can enjoy this home. We particularly love the gorgeous wood burner that takes centre stage in the living area, making it an ideal destination even in those cold, winter months. After a day out exploring, it’s the perfect place to settle down with a glass of red as the flames crackle before you.

The town is a popular seaside destination with one of the best food scenes in Cornwall – Michael Caines has a restaurant here. Aside from its culinary offering, Britain’s most southerly port is known for its boat-filled harbour, pretty Victorian terraces, and 70-foot-high,...
