Lush green scenes roll on for miles in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A place where wildlife and natural beauty make up every postcard-ready scene, and quaint villages are peppered throughout. About six miles from the market town of Leyburn (or in other words, six miles from cosy, country pubs) this home in the Dales is a welcoming nest where you can live life in the slow lane. From the outside, this bungalow offers a charming mixture of traditional and modern qualities. We love the large, panoramic windows and the solar panels on the roof – a home that respects the environment. Then the crunchy, gravel path and golden brickwork present a more rustic affair, with a similar story indoors. Soft, pastel fabrics and parquet floors in the living space create a certain countryside elegance, with the log-burner in an alcove to subtly light up the room. As you settle down on the patchwork throw with a novel by the fire, let someone else prepare a fresh pot of tea in the sophisticated kitchen. While touches like Persian rugs bring a touch of vibrancy around you, the other colourful scene is right outside your door. Slide back the glass doors as you gaze out to rural vistas – perhaps while sitting on the picnic bench with a cuppa in hand.

About Lancashire

From Blackpool’s swirl of neon lights to the Forest of Bowland’s wind-whipped fells, Lancashire’s sights span the extremes of what Britain has to offer. Follow drystone walls along the Pendle Hill walk; slip through kissing-gates in fields of grazing sheep, over old wooden footbridges, eventually cresting the summit to humbling views across Lancashire and the Yorkshire Dales. Ramble through woodland to emerge at the reservoir edge where the pin-drop silence...
