Coastal walks, fish and chips and crabbing in Alnmouth Beach’s rockpools are on offer with a stay at this cosy cottage. It’s in Alnmouth village itself, a five-minute walk to the cosy pubs and shops of the centre and fifteen minutes from the beach. The England Coast Path that runs all the way from Amble to Bamburgh practically passes right by the door, so this spot is perfect for ramblers. Plus, it’s just a twenty-minute walk from the train station. Inside, you’ll find a cosy, beachy theme of sand-hued wood and suede blue sofas. The fireplace in the living room can warm cold feet on blustery days and the dine-in kitchen is bright and sunny on summer days. The big dining table can accommodate busy family breakfasts, and for a moment’s respite, there are bistro tables in the garden for a quiet evening tipple. We love the nautical touches in the bedrooms – crab motif and beach hut cushions.

About The Northumberland Coast

Right at the top of England, Northumberland’s great expanse is dotted with medieval strongholds that have seen many a bloody battle. A landscape rich with history, you can explore the crumbling ruins of clifftop castles or tour restored and retained masterpieces at Bamburgh Castle and Alnwick Castle. Fishing villages punctuate the sweeps of undiscovered beaches along the coastline. Tangles of lobster pots sit on old stone harbours while boats trundle...
