This charming stone-built home complete with farmhouse kitchen, cosy wood burning stove and secluded garden offers delightful views along the Coquet Valley making it the perfect couple’s retreat or small family safe space. Located in the village of Alwington, this former 19th century granary ticks all of our boxes. With wonderful walking and mountain biking trails on your doorstep as well as great fishing opportunities, all within each reach of Hadrian's Wall, Kielder Water and the Heritage coast, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to deciding how to spend your down time. What’s more, Northumberland is home to more castles and fortified houses than any other region in England. If your boots aren’t made for too much walking, you’ll enjoy spending time exploring the nearby market towns of Rothbury, Alnwick and Morpeth, where you’ll be able to peruse local gift shops, and feast on pub grub followed by coffee and cake. You’re sure to recognise Alnwick Castle from the Harry Potter films – a great family day out. Or, if in doubt hang out at The Star Inn, Harbottle’s more than 200-year-old dog friendly coaching inn cum pub, pizzeria and shop, a 5-minute drive away.
