You’ve got the best of all worlds at this charming 18th-century cottage, set within nine acres of magnificent country grounds and just a short drive from some of Northumberland's most beloved seaside villages. Part of a sprawling private estate with a grand hall at its heart, we love the sense of space and privacy this home brings inside and out. Bedrooms are spaced apart over two floors, each with its own bathroom. And when it’s time to put your feet up, the sitting room on the top floor with a characterful stone fireplace has cosy film nights written all over it. Outside, families can enjoy the rustic treehouse play area and explore local wildlife in the peaceful woodlands of the estate. Or stay put at the cottage with a good book and chase the sun from the front and rear gardens. There's garden furniture to perch at with a cuppa or sundowners in both spots. When thoughts turn to food, cooking is a joy in the country kitchen with its mighty stove. But if you fancy a night off dinner duties, the traditional pub in the nearby village of Ellingham should do very nicely (0.5 miles). Or jump in the car and blaze... a trail to the golden sands of Bamburgh or Seahouses (both just a short drive away) for lip-smacking fish and chips and lashings of ice cream.
