Found among the acres of working farmland in South Wales, this striking house takes you away from the hustle of city life so you can enjoy the simple pleasures of rural life. Perfectly set up to accommodate big groups – think family reunions, getaways with friends, or a reading retreat – so everyone can claim a space for themselves, but still come together to make memories in the shared spaces. Start with breakfast at the generous dining table. Pancakes with nutella and banana, or maybe bacon and eggs? If you can manage Welsh cakes, we recommend a batch to be enjoyed together as you plan for the day ahead. Head out to Cardiff for hours of shopping, or make the drive to the gorgeous Brecon Beacons National Park. The beaches near Porthcawl aren’t more than an hour away, so if you find yourself hankering for day of sand, surf, and sun, then you can find it at Newton or Porthcawl Rest Bay Beach. If you’re staying in, entertain yourselves in the games room where you can challenge each other to pool, table tennis, or table football. Once you’ve hit a bullseye on the dart board, you can breakaway for a... quiet coffee in the reading room. Together, you can watch the sunset from the sunken hot tub out front. Peer out over the land and onto the horizon to see the colours spill, and once the sun has set, stay out having drinks, stargazing and making plan for the following day.

About Cardiff
Wales’ capital is a cracking mix of something old and something new. There’s an ancient castle right in the centre, with 2000 years’ worth of history to walk around. There’s a modern waterfront ‘down the bay’, where you can watch opera or ballet at the gleaming Wales Millenium Centre, tour the eco-friendly Senedd (Welsh Parliament) building or take a thrilling rib ride. There are beautifully preserved Victorian arcades to explore,...
