You’ll find this cedar-clad lodge in the quiet village of Coelbren, right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. Inside, it’s modern yet cosy. There’s a convivial living space with squishy reclining sofas and a fully-equipped kitchen with everything you need for cooking up tasty Welsh-inspired meals. Spend lazy mornings breakfasting on the decking before challenging your loved ones to a game of pool. When you’d like to take the relaxation up a notch, jump in the hot tub and soak your cares away. Afternoons are for exploring the surrounding countryside; set out on one of many walking routes that unfold from your doorstep. Henrhyd Falls, of film and TV fame, is a thirteen-minute stroll away, while the Craig-y-nos Country Park – one of our favourite picnicking spots – is reached in around an hour and ten minutes by car. Should you prefer to head into the city, it’s a forty-minute drive to Swansea. As dusk falls across the unspoilt landscape, head back to your abode for a barbecue dinner and a well-earned glass of bubbly.
