Having recently undergone a renovation, this Gràcia apartment is awash with earthy colours, natural materials and leafy houseplants. It could be said that the design isn't so much led by Catalan influences as by North African style – whatever the inspiration, it's undeniably easy on the eye. Not only that, but it's somewhere in which you'll quickly feel at home. The sleek white kitchen is plenty big enough for whipping up family-sized feasts, while there are a couple of spots in which to do nothing more strenuous than relax and take it easy – the hammock chair is sure to be a firm favourite among some guests, while the balcony allows you to get a burst of fresh air during warm afternoons. That's not if you're already out and about exploring the cultural riches of Barcelona. One of the city's must-see sights – La Sagrada Familia – is less than a quarter of an hour's walk away, while you can also get to Barceloneta Beach in around half an hour on public transport.

La Sagrada Família is the neighbourhood immediately surrounding Barcelona’s greatest and largest attraction - the Sagrada Família. As Gaudí’s opus magnum, the architectural behemoth has been in construction for over a century, and some say asking when will it be finished is the easiest way to anger a local. The immediate vicinity of the cathedral is always busy, but the rest of the area is upscale and residential, making it quieter than one would expect.
