Set amidst the Sierra Nevada mountains, this home has striking views of the forested scenery here in Olympic Valley. Nestled in Palisades Tahoe, you’re perfectly placed to make the most of this location’s vibrant ski culture and world-renowned terrain – it did host the 1960 Olympic Winter Games, after all. From the moment you arrive at this impressive log cabin, you’ll feel right at home thanks to its cosy wood interior, plush leather furnishings and log-burning fires. Wake up in your comfy bed with views of the snow-topped pine trees before discussing your daily plans over a coffee at the family-style dining table. If you’re not out hiking the local trails, enjoying a sky-grazing tram ride or snowboarding the steep chutes, sport a few rounds of ping pong or shuffleboard at home before sinking into the outdoor hot tub. If you’ve spent the day making the most of the deep powder, return home, slip off your boots in the boot room and toast by the fire with an old fashioned you fixed up at the sleek wet bar. After an adrenaline-packed day, you’ll want to ease into relaxation mode, so why not make the most of the luxury services provided...

Local guide

About Olympic Valley

On the border of California and Nevada, Lake Tahoe is one of the largest bodies of water in the US. As you'd expect, it's an area of astounding beauty, but the lake has also made a name for itself as a centre for both winter sports and water sports, as well as hiking and cycling. The north shore is a bit quieter and more relaxed than the south. While there's still plenty to do (including the annual food and wine festival), you're unlikely to see crowds like you do in other parts of the region.
