Situated on a working farm in the rolling hills of Mid Wales, this homespun hideaway is the perfect place for slowing down and switching off. The traditional interiors feel familiar and comforting – we loved the floral carpet, inglenook fireplace and antique furnishings. Spend mornings curled up on a plump leather armchair with a good book before preparing a full Welsh breakfast in the rustic kitchen. When lunchtime rolls around, enjoy a picnic in the garden or take the short drive to Machynlleth for a pub lunch followed by a cup of coffee in a cosy cafe. If you’re keen to stretch your legs, embark on the hike from Dolgellau to Cadair Idris, the highest mountain in southern Snowdonia. Head back to your abode, worn out and windswept, to warm your toes in front of the wood-burning stove as you reflect on the day’s adventures.
