Sitting pretty in the heart of Shaldon, this spacious cottage is everything we want from a place at the seaside. Step inside to laidback styling and countryside charm; the neutral colour scheme, sumptuous furnishings and quiet bedrooms are instantly welcoming. Start your mornings with rounds of buttery toast at the dining table before finishing the last of your coffee on the sun-trap terrace. Take a moment to relax with a good book in the cosy living space and when it’s time to explore, slip on your sandals and take the seventeen-minute walk to Ness Cove Beach, accessed via the intriguingly-named Smugglers Tunnel. If you’d like to explore a little further afield, jump in the car and drive for six minutes to Teignmouth – stroll along the promenade or try your hand at kayaking, coasteering or paddle boarding. When the day draws to a close, reflect on your adventures with a gin and tonic in the London Inn, no more than a five-minute saunter from your doorstep.
