A vision of country cottage idyll in traditional Norfolk flint, this is an enchanting little spot for any trip to the countryside. Originally built in the 1800s, it sits in the village of North Creake with a cosy country pub just down the road and the ruins of old Creake Abbey a short walk away. For a grander day out, Holkham Hall is less than fifteen minutes’ drive away and it’s a twenty-minute drive to the sweeping sands of Holkham Beach. Perhaps pop to Wells-next-the-Sea (a ten-minute drive) to stock up on supplies and sample the local fish and chips. Everything about this cottage is pure cosiness, from the idyllic facade to the wood-burning stove in the living room and the muted motif of soft blues and greys. The little kitchen is clapboard country-style and the breakfast table sits in a sunny conservatory spot overlooking the garden. A winding pathway of shrubs and hedges leads to a bench and shed for a quiet moment in the sun.
