Embracing pastoral charm, this 18th-century cottage is a fantastic choice for a couple or small family looking for a rural getaway. Located in the small village of Wittingham, this home is surrounded by gently rolling hills, epitomising peace and tranquillity. It's a gem for walking enthusiasts, with picturesque trails stemming right from your front door. Step into this cottage and be put at ease by its cosy interiors. The log-burning fireplace and wooden beamed ceilings exude traditional country house charm, while the plush sofas and soft throws provide ultimate homeliness. It's the kind of place you'll love coming home to after a day of hiking across the Cheviot Hills or strolling through the nearby towns. This home is just a fifteen-minute drive from Alnwick, a historic market town. Got any Harry Potter or Downtown Abbey fans in the group? They'll love exploring Alnwick Castle, which was used as a filming location. A nice glass of wine in front of the fireplace is always a particularly lovely way to round off a great day. Or, weather permitting, you can take the wine outside into the quaint Mediterranean-style garden to soak up the last of the late afternoon sun, surrounded by olive and bay... trees in terracotta pots.
