Inside, the home is laidback with unpretentious furnishings and blue hues that channel the seaside surroundings. The cosy living area commands curling up with a good book in front of the wood-burning stove and the well-lit kitchen diner is ideal for lively breakfasts before long walks through the countryside. When the weather is on your side, enjoy a cup of tea at the bistro set on the patio then jump in the car and head to Bamburgh Beach – it’s only a six-minute drive away. After a revitalising dip in the North Sea, spend the afternoon strolling along the sweeping sands and exploring Bamburgh Castle.
