Just outside of Southwold, the charming village of Walberswick is home to a slice of sandy beach, cosy pubs and a handful of tea rooms. This family home puts you in the village itself, a fifteen-minute stroll from the beach. If you want to explore Walberwick’s busier neighbour – the Victorian seaside resort of Southwold – it’s a twenty-minute drive away. The home itself is modern but done in a Tudor style with a terracotta-red roof. A vast garden is home to an apple orchard, vine-covered walkway and dining for the group on the lawn. From here, French doors lead to the sunny sitting room, where a selection of books goes nicely with the wood-burning stove for hygge evenings in. There’s plenty of room in the big dining room, plus a bright pink desk for working remotely if you need. A floor-to-ceiling glass door and window set keeps the kitchen sunny-bright too, and bedrooms are quiet havens for peaceful sleep.

You'll have your own private entrance here

This home is split over two levels so may not be suitable for those with limited mobility

Your hosts provide glassware and mugs equal to the number of guests attending the home

About Southwold

Visiting Southwold as a child is an experience you’ll never forget, and you’re unlikely to as an adult either. The pier, with its traditional pavilion, might look like any other late-Victorian pier from the outside, but it’s a must-visit in this seaside town. What makes Southwold Pier different is its arcade of humorous, quirky, coin-operated machines. Created by the inventor Tim Hunkin, they feature a range of eccentric – and...
