Set on a working farm hugged by the rolling hills of Mid Wales, this converted stable adjoined to the main farmhouse dating back to 1650 is a blissful country getaway made for pure relaxation. You’ll immediately be charmed by the traditional white and black exterior that gives way to a cosy living area that beckons cosy snuggling by its wood-burning stove and hearty family meals around the dining table. Upstairs, the two bedrooms are peaceful havens to retreat to after busy days exploring, certain to leave you rested and revived for another day of outdoors fun. Speaking of the home’s outdoors, you’ve got a private courtyard garden and lawn to enjoy. Gather together for alfresco breakfasts on balmy mornings while looking out at the beautiful countryside stretching out before you and fire up the barbecue for sunset dinners as the stars begin to light up the sky. Streams and woodlands surround you offering ample opportunity for bird-watching and fishing, and the Glyndwr's Way National Trail passes within 500 metres of the cottage for those itching to lace up their hiking boots. Elsewhere, the traditional market town of Welshpool with its canal, shops, restaurants and pubs is only three miles away, as... is the village of Guilsfield which also boasts a couple of enticing pubs. And, if you’re after castles and culture, the area has both in spades with Dolforwyn Castle – the last castle to be built by Llewelwyn (the Last Prince of Wales) – half an hour’s drive away and Powis Castle – a must-visit for its beautiful gardens and collection of paintings and tapestries – just over twenty minutes away by car.
