Design-wise, this apartment in the Florentin neighbourhood of Tel Aviv doesn't take many risks, but it nails the basics so well that we felt compelled to include it in our collection. The large windows at the far end of the main living space bring in copious amounts of natural light, which flows about the open-concept space and dances off the sleek surfaces. It must be said that decoration is kept to a minimum, although it feels chic and unfussy rather than neglected. When it comes to practicality, the kitchen certainly looks the part, but with only two hobs and no oven, you might want to leave more ambitious meals until you return to your regular abode. It's a stroke of luck then that there are so many restaurants and cafes in the immediate locale, with a great choice of Middle Eastern and global cuisines to be discovered. Nahalat Binyamin Street is three minutes' walk around the corner and has a twice-weekly market to explore, while Charles Clore Beach and the adjoining park can be reached in around twenty minutes on foot.
