Thought to date back in part to the Tudor period and in part to the Victorian era, this old mill – located in a picturesque hamlet – was converted during the 1980s and takes care to retain much of the home’s period features including the mill shaft, which is a striking centrepiece to the living space. Multiple levels, some at split levels in this home reference the mechanical workings of the mill and intersect original mill components creating a wonderfully unique space. What’s more, the home’s owners have put a lot of thought into the environmental footprint of this home by upcycling furniture, using energy-efficient appliances, using a solar PV system, and including garden plants with low watering requirements.
