Sitting in-between Joshua Tree National Park and downtown Palm Springs, this home benefits from a striking mountain backdrop and the vast desert sky ideal for star-spotting once the sun's gone down. As you might hope given this dramatic scenery, there are plenty of ways to admire the view here, whether you're paddling in the swimming pool, relaxing in the spa or cooking up dinner on the barbecue. Although this is a corner of California in which the alfresco lifestyle is prioritised, there's plenty to like about what lies behind the home's four walls. The plethora of white walls, sleek surfaces and brightly coloured furnishings feel fresh and contemporary, while there's no shortage of natural light streaming in through the large windows. When it comes to filling up your itineraries, guests really are spoilt for choice. As well as a wealth of hiking routes in the surrounding mountains, the local area is famous for its golf courses and there's a wide choice of spots from which to tee off. The restaurants, galleries and boutiques of Palm Springs are only a short drive away, too.
