Step out onto the balcony of this smart new apartment and gaze in wonder at the mountain views. Built from local timber and stone, it's a charming mix of the traditional and the modern, with vaulted ceilings, a small mezzanine overlooking the lounge and high-end contemporary styling. We particularly love the black kitchen, kitted out with everything you'll need for cooking at home. With two en-suite bedrooms, there's plenty of room for a family or a few friends sharing, and there's additional sleeping space on the mezzanine – perfect for older children. Just a few kilometres from Chamonix and a stroll from the nearest bus stop if you don't fancy the drive, it's well-placed for some of the best ski resorts in the area. You'll have a space in the underground car park and there's a private locker for your equipment.

There's a single bed with a trundle beneath it on the mezzanine which could accommodate a couple of children on request – the stairs are steep so this wouldn't suit children under five
