Situated a short drive from Grignan, a pretty village renowned for its Renaissance castle, jumble of cobbled streets and low-lying lavender fields, this modern villa is a place to experience rural France at its very best. Afternoons are for exploring the surrounding countryside – set out on one of the many walks that unfold from your doorstep or explore the Provencal towns of Orange and Montélimar. If you’d prefer to take it easy, your garden is the perfect place to while away the hours. Lie back on a lounger – moving only to top up your glass – or float about in the private pool. Doze off in the hammock and awake to the heady smell of rosemary drifting from the summer kitchen as the appointed chef of your group cooks up a storm. Retire to the living space in the early evening and swap anecdotes over a bottle of rosé and when it’s time to get some rest, quiet bedrooms guarantee sweet dreams.
